ZENITH Bank Plc has donated infant incubator worth millions of naira to the management of University of Calabar Teaching Hospital to tackle the challenges of premature births.
Presenting the baby incubator and other medical items to the hospital, representative of the South-South zone, Zenith Bank Plc, Mrs. Ekanem Asuquo said the bank was moved by the achievement of the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Thomas Agan.
Asuquo said “We have seen the good works you are doing here and we thought it wise to support you by partnering with you. It is also part of our social responsibility to save lives. The value of one child the equipment will help to save is what matters to us.”
In his response, the CMD, noted: “I call on corporate bodies, individuals and organisations to emulate this gesture and assist the hospital in its task of saving lives. You will recall that some years back this bank donated a 500 kva generating set to the hospital which has been of immense benefit to this us.
“We cannot thank you enough, especially for returning with that same spirit with a brand new incubator for the benefit of our children, especially the less-privileged children who come out before their time. It is something we need to commend you.
“In this hospital, we are delivering more 300 babies per month; some are multiple pregnancies. So this donation by Zenith bank will go a long way to render better services. We need very many other equipment and support,” he said.
