Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has insisted only fit players will be involved in a 2013 Nations Cup qualifier in Rwanda amid speculations Chelsea’s Mikel Obi may be cut.

Mikel has resumed training after seven weeks out with a muscle problem, but he has yet to feature for his English Premier League side.

”It’s very simple only fit players would be invited now. We have three major qualifiers, there is CHAN 2012, AFCON 2013 and the World Cup qualifiers, so we are just building and everyone would get a chance but right now only fit players will be invited,” declared Keshi on a radio programme.

”My list will consist of only players who are in action every week.”

Keshi was also non-committal about whether he will recall Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni, who has not featured for the country since he missed a sitter against South Korea at the 2010 World Cup.

“There was no time I said Aiyegbeni was on my list. But if he makes it to the list, that means he deserves to be there,” said the coach.

Keshi is expected to name his list of players for the qualifier in Kigali on Thursday with the players expected to hit camp next Tuesday. investigation reveals that the likes of Vincent Enyeama, Joseph Yobo, Osaze Odemwingie, Obinna Nsofor, Efe Ambrose, Ike Uche, Taye Taiwo, Joel Obi, Brown Ideye, Ekigho Ehiosun and Austin Ejide would top the list of call-ups from Europe.

Meanwhile, Enugu Rangers winger Ejike Uzoenyi has vowed to make Keshi’s final squad for match in Rwanda on February 29.

”I know I will make the final list. That is the why I have been in this camp. I will keep working hard to make the main team,” said Uzoenyi, one of the exciting players in a team of players from the domestic league who will do battle with Liberia in Monrovia Wednesday.
