LAGOS – Chikodili Anaekwe, the woman who allegedly killed her husband, Ifeanyi Anaekwe, during a scuffle in their apartment at Ago-Okota area of Lagos State, has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department Panti, Yaba, Lagos for further interrogations.

Police sources told Vanguard that the homicide detectives at the State CID, were currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of the middle-aged man.

A police source who craved for anonymity, told Vanguard that preparations were on to conduct an autopsy on the corpse to ascertain the cause of the death.

The source said: “She is in our custody and we are currently interrogating her. I can’t give you details of our interrogation because I do not have the authority to do so. We are also preparing to  conduct an  autopsy on the  corpse to ascertained the cause of the death”, the source said.

Meanwhile  the  deceased,  and his wife had an argument over money to buy pampers and baby food for their child during the weekend,  which  however degenerated into a fight during which the widow, Chikodili Anaekwe, allegedly grabbed a pestle and hit her husband on the head which made him to slump. When he slumped, she allegedly stabbed him several times. Mr. Anaekwe was said to have died before help came.

The deceased, who was said to be preparing for work at the time, was said to have explained to the wife that he did not have enough money. This they claimed infuriated the wife and a fight ensued.”

Lagos Police Command Spokesman, Joseph Jayeoba,  while confirming  the report said   the case have been transferred to  the SCID,  and homicide detectives at the State CID, are currently investigating  death.    The PPRO, assured  that the case will be charged to court at the end of investigations
