OSOGBO – Wife of Osun tate governor, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola has called on mothers to join hands with government to tackle the issue of violence against children in the state.
She disclosed this yesterday while speaking at the 2011 end of the year party for children across the state held at the state house, G.R.A Osogbo.
According to her, the government alone cannot eliminate the problems of violence against children, so parents and guardian should complement government efforts by safeguarding their rights.
She said: “It is time we stop any form of violence against these children; activities such as street hawking, rape against girls or using them as maids to make money are capable of distorting their dreams of becoming great persons in life.”
