Member Representing Bomadi/Patani federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr Nicholas Mutu, weekend, said the N20 billion Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Gbaregolor-Ezebiri Road project, would be completed on schedule.
Mutu, who is the House Committee Chairman on NDDC, expressed optimism that with the huge sum of money voted for the project by the commission and the budgetary provision made for it in the out-going year, the contractor would deliver on schedule.
Speaking at an inter-denominational crusade at Akubgene town, Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State, he said when the road project was completed, the entire Ijaw communities linked by road would be opened up for commerce and trade.
He urged his constituents to be patient with the construction company, Setraco Nig, Ltd, assuring that as part of his committee’s oversight functions, he would ensure that all projects awarded by the commission were carried out to the letter.
In a sermon, the Catholic Bishop of Bomadi Vicariate, Hyacinth Egbebo called on the Federal Government to establish a sub Power Generating Station in the creeks of the Niger Delta region, stressing that the people living in the creeks need electricity for their business.
