As part of its its corporate citizenship initiatives, Guinness Nigeria Plc has given Guinness Eye Centre in Onitsha a face lift with the painting of its facility and furniture.
Under its CSR, Guinness Nigeria had sponsored two eye centres in Nigeria including the second one located in the Lagos Teaching Hospital in Lagos State.
Speaking at the reception, Adrianne Nwagwu, head Sustainability and Responsibility, Guinness Nigeria said that Guinness will continue to support the Guinness Eye Centres to sustain it as centres of excellence for eye care.
“The face-lift of the Guinness Eye Centre Onitsha demonstrates our passion for community involvement and humanitarian service which is the focus of our corporate citizenship initiatives in Nigeria” she said.
In his reaction, Professor Sebastine Nwosu of the department of Optamology NNamdi Azikiwe University said that he was pleased with Guinness Nigeria’s involvement in sustaining the Eye Centre since inception stating that the Centre would continue to deliver excellent eye care to patients.
He thanked Guinness Nigeria for their support and look forward to a continued partnership.
Guinness Nigeria in partnership with the management of Nnamdi Azikwe University had earlier donated machines worth over N2 million to the Hospital.
