Balarabe Musa fingers foreign agents in bomb attacks

By Dotun Ibiwoye
Former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Musa, has blamed overseas agents working with the United States’ prediction that Nigeria will disintegrate in 2015, for the Christmas day’s bombings for which Boko Haram sect claimed responsibility.

About 50 people were killed in separate bomb blasts in Madalla, Jos and Damaturu on Christmas day.

In a telephone interview with Vanguard, yesterday, Musa stated that the bombings took another dimension, indicating the involvement of foreign agents.

He also reasoned that the targeting of churches on a Christmas day, the technique and timing suggested that there was a deviation from Boko Haram’s pattern.

2015 USA’s prediction

He said: “Foreign agents are responsible for the Christmas day bomb blasts. From all indications, it shows that they want to split Nigeria and work according to the United States prediction that Nigeria will disintegrate in the year 2015.

“The bombings are unfortunate and another sad occurrence in our history. Even though we experience these bombings on a daily basis, it also confirms the total absence of security in the country. We do not know the perpetrators but we suspect it was Boko Haram, but this has a different dimension.

“I doubt if it was Boko Haram because of the attack on the churches. No Islamic organisation can attack churches and inflict so much pain on people on Christmas day because Boko Haram claims that it is an Islamic organisation.”

Musa, the Chairman of Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP, also stressed that Muslims and Christians were eager to find a lasting solution to the incessant bombings and were more united now than ever before in Nigeria.

Muslims, Christians united

Musa said: “President Jonathan recently invited more than 100 Christians and Muslims and discussed with them on the way out over the constant religious violence.

“In that meeting, it was impossible to differentiate between Muslims and Christians. Also in that meeting, one discovered that everyone was eager to find a solution to the bombings.”
