WARRI – THE new Governing Council of Ugborodo Community Trust has appealed to the Federal and Delta State governments to complete the developmental projects earmarked for the Ugboro-do community in Warri South-West Local Govern-ment Area of the state.
Speaking to newsmen after a meeting of Ugboro-do Trust Council, its Secre-tary, Dr. Ayo Ayomike called on the Federal Govern-ment to direct the Niger Delta Development Com-mission, NDDC, to re-award the foreshore protec-tion contract in view of the fact that the ocean surge had almost devastated all the towns in Ugborodo community.
He said since the initial contract was canceled few years ago, no other attempt had been made to get it re-awarded. He called on the relevant agencies to ensure its inclusion in the 2012 budget. He also called on Delta State to ensure that the New Ugborodo Town-ship project was imple-mented without delay.
Ayomike lamented that report reaching the body indicates that the contractor, who was supposed to handle the project, had refused to move to site after allegedly collecting mobilisation fund.
