Nigeria Football Federation declared Thursday that the 2.00pm kick off time will not be a hindrance to the Eagles’ quest to put at least two goals in the net of the visiting Syli Stars Guinea in tomorrow’s crucial Nations Cup qualifiers.
According to a member of the NFF technical committee, the Eagles have conditioned themselves to the weather by having six days of training under the warm Abuja skies.
“I’m sure the weather will not play against us. The players I believe have trained adequately well for the game,” said the NFF member.
Defender Dele Adeleye buttressed this summation when he said that the players being professionals will adapt.
“We are professionals and we know how important this game is to us and Nigeria. The issue of playing at 2pm should not be a distraction for us because our concentration is on getting the points to qualify for the Nations Cup.
“The time of the match shouldn’t be a cause for concern right now. The concern should be getting a win that will qualify us to the Nations Cup,” Adeleye, 22, said.
