NBA worries over state of court facilities in Abia

Aba—Abia State branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, is worried over the dilapidated conditions of facilities in various courts in the state.

The Chairman, Mr Charles Eduzor, said  in Aba yesterday that the structures and facilities at the courts in the state were the worst in the country.

He said: “We have the worst high courts in the federation, they are just like native arbitration outlets. Here you find out that the high courts are like places where miscreants gather.”

Eduzor said court premises in the state have been overgrown with weeds, while the structures and facilities required urgent rehabilitation to make them conducive for the quick dispensation of justice.

On the controversy in the appointment of a chief judge of the state, Eduzor emphasised that the NBA would continue to insist that only the most senior judge was appointed to the position.
