1,000 ACN, PDP members defect to Labour Party in Ondo

GOVERNOR Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State wants supporters of the Labour Party, LP,  in the state to remain focused and avoid distractions by what he described as the lies of the opposition.

He spoke in Oke Agbe, yesterday, the headquarters of Akoko North West Local Government Area of the State while welcoming over 1,000 members of the ACN and the PDP into the LP.

Mimiko, who described the new LP members as genuine politicians, asked the people of the area not to be distracted or discouraged by comments from the opposition parties, saying that investigation of the lies peddled in the name of oppositional politics will reveal that Labour Party is  on course”.

The decampees include a former special assistant to the immediate past Governor Olusegun Agagu, Muyiwa Asagunla; Folorunso Dauda; Adams Hamzat; Hon. Oso Ade and Tunde Adojutelegan.

The state acting chairman of the LP in Ondo State, Chief Dele Akinyele, received the decampees.  
Akinyele congratulated the defectors and urged them to work for the victory of LP in the state.
The LP chairman in Akoko North West Local Government Area, Alhaji Aribisala Momoh, said the defectors are seasoned politician and leaders.

He said that their coming into the LP was a manifestation of the acceptance of the party in the local government area.

The defectors, after narrating their experiences in their former parties, described the Ondo LP  as a  party with genuine interest of the people at heart, adding that they were convinced it has  commitment to add value to the lives of the people.
