BENIN CITY – AHEAD of the July, 2012 governorship election in Edo State, former Chairman Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Tony Anenih, weekend, said that reclaiming the state for the PDP was a “task that must be won.”
Chief Anenih who spoke at the state delegates’ conference of the PDP, where Chief Dan Orbih was re-elected as state chairman of the party, noted that the challenge before the leadership of the party was to ensure that they swear in a PDP governor by July 14, 2012.
Commending the peaceful manner the congresses were conducted, he said: “I am happy that our members are united. Now that a new executive had been put in place, we must all go out to work night and day to reclaim the governorship position. We will not talk much but it is a task that must be accomplished. We don’t run parties on the pages of newspapers .We will work until the Action Congress of Nigerian governor was removed through the ballot box come 2012.”
A member of the BOT of the party, Chief Shuiabu Oyedokun led the five man committee that supervised the congress. Former Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Lucky Imasuen emerged as the Vice-Chairman, Edo South; former Commissioner in the state, Mrs Lucy Omagbon emerged state woman leader; Mathew Urhohide, Publicity Secretary; Mr. Felix Utobor, Secretary; Bisi Idaomi, Assistant State Publicity Secretary and Johnson Abulagba, Vice Chairman, Edo North
