Be good ambassadors of the college proprietress advises graduating students

It is important for the graduating students to be good ambassadors of the college so that they can project the good image of the college, the proprietress Oyeleke Memorial College Offa, Kwara State said recently during the graduation ceremony of the college.

Mrs. Oyeleke also said that ‘parents have a great role to play in the educational development of the children because. Children tend to emulate people around them. It is important for parents and teachers to always keep this in mind so that they set good examples for the children” She said. While thanking the parents for training the children she said the school is blessed with dedicated staff.

“The teachers have done extremely well and the college appreciates their contribution to the academic development of the children” The proprietress said”

Mrs. Oyeleke…Urged the ten graduating students to carry their parents along in everything they do when they get to the university. She advised the graduands to avoid bad behaviors in the university so that they can excel. Her words, “I want you to be good ambassadors of the college and your family, Be focused, hard working and determined. It is my prayer that all of you will emerge as champions.”

The principal, Mr. Moruf Yusuf said the high academic standard of the school will not be compromised. “We feel strongly that the best assistance we can give our products is sound teachings so that we can inculcate in them correct learning and reading habits that will see them through higher institution later in life. It is in this way that they will be able to defend their admission in whatever institution they find themselves, “The principal said.

He added that the students have been exposed to rigorous training which would make them excel in public examinations.

According to the principal the school gets involved in extra curricular activities such as football, Table Tennis, Gymnastics and indoor Games.

He advised the graduating students to “think positively” be determined and aim high.

The guest speakers, Barrister Kayode Abioye, asked the students to avoid moral decadence which is rampant in the society. As he put it, “it is indisputable” though many may not agree that the civil society and the Government at the various levels are helpless at the level of moral decadence, crimes, corruption, prostitution and other atrocities witnessed daily in this country.
