Bauchi – Two people were killed when armed robbers on Monday attacked a microfinance bank and a police station in Gamawa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
Vanguard gathered that the gunmen, who were eight in number came into the finance house through Jakusko Road, and carted away unspecified amount of money, as well as computers and two cars from the bank premises. They later attempted to break into another first generation bank in the area but their attempt failed due to the bullet proof doors provided by the Bank.
In a similar development, a police station in the same area was also attacked by same gunmen who robbed the microfinance bank.
According to an eyewitness, the gunmen attacked the police station by throwing explosives into the premises, causing panic in the entire area.
According to the eyewitness, the police retaliated by opening fire and in the process two people were hit by stray bullets.
