ABUJA – Implementation of the performance contract initiative has been identified as critical to Nigeria’s attainment of the Vision 20:20:20 and the United Nations Millenium Development Goals.
This view was expressed yesterday by the Chairman of the Federal Civil Service Commission, FCSC, Amb. Ahmed Al-Ghazali while briefing newsmen on the adoption of the initiative.
He explained that the initiative was designed to link the government to the governed through efficient governance and effective service delivery.
The FCSC boss also stated that the process of its implementation involves the establishment of contract agreements between ministries, extra-ministerial departments and agencies, MDAs, and the government.
He said it is a process of getting better results through understanding and managing performance of workers within an agreed framework of planned goals, standards and competency requirements .
