Lagos probes council boss over alleged misuse of N65m

LAGOS— The Lagos State Government has begun investigation into an alleged N65 million fraud and financial misappropriation levelled at the Chairman of Agege Local Government Area, Mr Jubril Abdulkareem.

It was learnt that Governor Babatunde Fashola gave the order to the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs to look into allegations levelled at the council boss, based on a petition written by members of the Agege Kingdom Elite.

The group had accused the chairman of misusing the tax payers money to the tune of N65 million under spurious expenditure aimed at defrauding the council.
