All roads to Pitakwa for Garden City Literary festival

EVERY arrangement to have another successful Garden City Literary Festival  are now put  in place according to the organisers of the programme.

In a release made available to arts on Sunday by the Port Harcourt based  Rainbow Book Clubs, one of the partner organisers of the project,  the festival which takes place in the garden city  from Monday 12 to Saturday 17 September, 2011 would feature as keynote speaker ,Prof Chinua Achebe (via satellite), Ghanaian writer, Ama Atta Aidoo and the American Right Activist, Rev. Jesse Jackson. The theme for this year is Literature and Politics.

According to the release,  writers and scholars , who wish to participate in prose, poetry, drama, non- fiction workshops , may submit their entries to the Festival organisers.

All workshops are free but strictly by registration. Other events at the Festival include; a symposium, interactive sessions with authors, book signings,  book fair, performances and special events for children.
