SOKOTO – SOKOTO State government has trained 5,725 youths in various trades and skill acquisition. Governor Aliyu Wamakko disclosed this yesterday at the graduation ceremony of the programme.
He said already, essential tools worth N77 million had been procured for distribution to the beneficiaries to start their businesses.
He explained that the government would continue to accord priority attention to the centres to enable them to train youths and women in various trades.
“ We will continue to offer purposeful leadership to enable our youths to contribute their quota towards the socio-economic and political development of our state.”
Wamakko called on beneficiaries to judiciously use the tools to start their businesses for the economic growth of the state.
”We have a duty to ensure that all youths, irrespective of political differences, are trained to be responsible citizens.”
