ABEOKUTA – Pregnant women in Ogun will soon benefit from free health care services, according to the new state Commissioner for Health, Dr Olaogun Soyinka.
Soyinka said that indigenes of the state would equally enjoy a better healthcare delivery package henceforth.
He stressed that the package was part of the five-point agenda of Governor Ibikunle Amosun’s administration.
He said: “The government has a five-point agenda and at the top of it is the improvement of healthcare services.
“This is my mandate and l have no option than to deliver on that promise to the people.”
The commissioner said that some primary health centres in the state would be rehabilitated as part of the government’s 100 days in office and pointing out that maternal and child health was of importance to the administration.
He said the health ministry would partner with relevant foreign and organisations and agencies towards tackling challenges ahead.
