BENIN—THE Benin Monarch, Omo N’Oba Erediauwa, has restated his support for Governor Adams Oshiomhole, describing his relationship with the latter as cordial.
The Oba’s support is coming on the heels of the call by the Edo State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, led by its Chairman, Bishop Peter Imasuen, to elected public officials of the state at state and federal levels to work for the people so as not to soil the good name of the governor.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the palace by Dr. Simon Imuekemhe, Secretary to the State Government, Erediauwa said, “by the grace of God, the relationship between me and your boss, the Governor, as you know, is very cordial. I beg you, let it remain so and let all the commissioners help continue with all the infrastructural developments going on.”
The SSG had earlier thanked the Oba for his support for the administration, saying “I want to thank you for the support you have given the Governor.”
On his part, Bishop Imasuen told the governor during a visit “we want to congratulate you on your party’s victory at the polls. The victory was for all Edo people and that victory came because of what you had put on ground and we believe that people voted because of what you had done. I plead that the work you started, please, continue.
“I want to also plead with you to also challenge those also elected into offices at federal and state levels. They were voted because of what you had done, not what they did,” he added.
