New wage: Ondo govt, ACN biker over alleged workers’ incitement

BY Dayo Johnson

Akure – ONDO State Government and the State Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, yesterday exchanged words over alleged incitement of the state workers during the recent strike over the implementation of the N18.000 new minimum wage.
While the government accused ACN of inciting the workers against the government and activities capable of breaching law and order in the state, the party dismissed the government’s claims, saying the administration  has lost focus.

At a briefing, the Information Commissioner, Ranti Akerele, alleged that the party incited public workers and hoodlums during the recent strike to protest and block major roads in the state capital over a faulty transformer which disrupted power supply in Ijoka and Oke Ogba.

Akerele noted that report available to government shows that the party instigated the workers not to negotiate with government to cause disaffection and make the state ungovernable.Akerele pointed out that last week; some hoodlums in Ijoka Street in Akure metropolis blocked the roads for hours and molested innocent people to protest inadequate electricity supply.
