Losses trail ‘Bermuda Triangle’ on Oshodi-Apapa expressway

IT has become a death trap for most unsuspecting drivers  plying the Oshodi-Apapa expressway. There is hardly any day that passes without more than two containers fallen on this spot and motorists now call it the ‘Bermuda Triangle’ on Apapa Oshodi Expresswy.

The number of small cars that fall on this road by the day are countless. This is the bad spot around Coker bus stop where prominent companies like Tata Motors, The Honda Place, Lanre Shittu Motors (Mack), Kia and Hyra Motors are located .

Infact, staff of these companies pray every day that a petrol tanker should not fall on this failed portion of the road but there prayers did not work last Friday when a petrol tanker fail on the road, spilling its content on the busy expressway. The result could better be imagined. Business activities in Lagos were paralysed following the  accident.

Although no life was lost in the accident which occurred around 11.30a.m, but the traffic build up resulting from the accident forced many Lagosians to trek several kilometres to their places of work and businesses. It was gathered that some people who use the road got home the following day due to traffic hold up.
