Former Golden Eaglets and Falcons coach Godwin Izilein was over joyed when the much_publicized rift between the Super Eagle coach, Samson Siasia and Osaze Odemwingie was laid to rest as announced by the NFF last Monday .
Izilien, penultimate Sunday told Siasia and striker Odemwingie to bury the hatchet for the sake of the country.
According to him, “For Siasia to have forgiven Osaze is a good thing to the country and it also shows that the coach has respect for his employers and also has the country at heart,” adding, “I love the coach for that, he is a listening coach and that marks the beginning of success for him.
He should not mind the attitude of the player (Osaze). It is a common phenomenon among players . All he needs do is to train them hard and get them close. Also the players should be disciplined if they want to be better professionals in the future.
Where they refuse to do that then they face the music. I’m sure with what has happened, Osaze and others have learned some lessons. The little I know about him is that he is not as stubborn as people think but a little bit arrogant. But that is not enough for him to disrespect his coach.
But if he believes the best way to go in his career is to disrespect his coach, it will not be good for him. The players who want to grow should perform well and submit themselves to the rules and regulations of their coach if not, they should leave the team”, he stressed.
