Court arraigns politician for possesson of fire-arms

Democratic Peoples Party chieftain and Federal House of Representatives Candidate for Uvwie, Okpe and Sapele Constituency at the April 26th elections, Honourable Michael Omuvwie, was Friday arraigned by the police, at the Sapele Chief Magistrate Court, on a three count charge of allegedly possessing fire arm during the elections.

Hon. Omuvwie  was first arrested by the police on the 26th day of April, 2011,  on a tip-off, for allegedly possessing nine rounds AK47 riffle, and was released on the eve of that day after the police had combed his abode and car to ascertain whether he actually possessed fire arm, and found non.

He  was again picked up at his Oghene road residence on Tuesday 5th July, 2011, by the police, who grilled him for more information and subsequently arraigned him at the Sapele Chief Magistrate Court, on Wednesday 6th July, 2011, after which he was remanded in Sapele prison on the order of the chief magistrate, Mr. David Emakunu, from where he was brought and arraigned yesterday, alongside one  Shedrack Famous, said to have committed the offence with him.
