Anambra Director of Sports hopeful on Lagos 2012 Games

Officials of the Anambra State contingent to the 17th National Sports Festival  said that they were in Port Harcourt  to learn and be better prepared for the next edition billed for Lagos stressing that they are prepared to be among the title contenders then.

The state director of Sports Mr Charles Amuzie stated that though the state’s performance in the competition was not as encouraging as he would have wanted, he said the government should be commended for creating the enablingenvironment for the state to participate in this Garden City Games.

According to Amuzie, what is paramount is the commitment of the state government  to Sports development, which he explained as brought new lease of life to sports  in Anambra State. The seasoned sports administrator said the state will come out with a blue print  that will favour grassroot sports development in the state as all the local  government councils would be contacted and trainings of the coaches will be  carried out to update them on recent development in their fields.

Amuzie, also appeal to stake holders in sports in the states to join hands with the state government in this new quest to project the state back to it’s  glorious days in Sports.
