Kaduna United Football Club last weekend qualified for the group stage of the Confederation Cup at the expense of Entente Setif of Algeria who they beat 3-0 to move ahead 3-1 on aggregate.
Their Technical Director, Maurice Cooreman spoke to Cafeonline after the match saying he was proud of his players and confident that the team will get to the final. Maurice also blamed is players for not scoring in the first half of the match.
Cafonline: Your team has qualified for the group stages of Orange CAF Confederation Cup, are you happy with this result?
Cooreman: I am very happy with the result, I have confident that were going to scale through in this match to group stage. Kaduna United deserve to be among the two teams that will play the final of the Confederation Cup because we have the quality of players that CAF will love to see in such championship.
Cafonline: Are you content with your player’s performance in the game?
Cooreman: Why not, I expect them to take the team to that next stage and they have done that, only that the match was supposed to end in the first half of the match by scoring 2 or 3 goals. They could not make use of the chances created in the first half. I am happy with their performance in the second half because they played according to my instruction.
Cafonline: As you have qualified, what are your next plans?
Cooreman: My next plan is to build another team that will move us to the final stage. We want to win this Cup, everybody in the team, in the state in the country want to see Kaduna United win this trophy, me as the head of technical team, I will seat with my coaches and see how we can improve in order to reach our target, which is winning the Cup for the first time in the state and the country at large.
