155 soldiers return from peace-keeping mission in Sudan

OWERRI-The first batch of 800 Nigerian soldiers from the 34 Field Artillery Brigade, Obinze, Owerri West Local Council Area of Imo State, who were on a peace-keeping mission in Sudan, have returned.

Welcoming the soldiers at the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, SMICA, Owerri, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier-General A.I.G Danpome, expressed delight that their trip was successful, adding that there was no negative report against them.

Danpome, who disclosed that the returning soldiers were 800 in number, also said the rest would come back in batches at a later date.

The commander thanked God that there was no loss of life and advised the returning soldiers to quickly and properly adjust to their new environment, pointing out that some changes had taken place in their absence.
