Yobo okays Osaze’s exclusion

The dropping of the West Bromich striker, Osaze Odewingie from the Super Eagles team list that would play Argentina and Ethiopia has received the blessing of the team captain, Joseph Yobo. gathered from the glass house that Yobo called in from his base in Turkey and spoke with a top member of the technical committee on the issue.

He stated that he was happy with the decision of the chief coach to drop Osaze from the list of players that would be playing Argentina on June 1 and Ethiopia few days later.

The Super Eagles captain revealed that most of the players were waiting to see how the chief coach would react to the unruly behaviour of Osaze Odemwingie when he walked out on the team during their last international engagement in Abuja.

The man popularly called ‘the man in the middle’ declared that he washappy with the chief coach decision and has gone to prove that he is in charge and is ready to instill discipline in the team .

He demanded that the comprehensive list of the players invited be sent to him so that he can personally call up the players in order to make them understand the need to take both matches serious and not allow the exclusion of Osaze disturb them.

“I want the comprehensive team list to be sent to me, though, I have seen something like it, but I want the authentic one from the team secretary so that I can call the players and advise them not to allow the Osaze situation to deter them from reporting to camp on time for both matches.” Yobo was quoted to have said.

It could be recalled that the Super Eagles chief coach, Samson Siasia excluded his most inform striker, Osaze Odemwingie from the twenty four man list that would prosecute the Argentina friendly match and the Nations cup qualifiers against Ethiopia.

The likes of Emmanuel Amuneke, Alloy Agu, and Victor Ikpeba have all backed Siasia, saying discipline was important if the team would succeed.
