Super Eagles and Kwara United defender, Yusuf Jaiyeola has said that the home based Super Eagles want to win the WAFU Cup for Coach Samson Siasia.
Jaiyeola who played from the right back position in the 2-1 victory over Ghana said the team are not under pressure despite their intention even as he is optimistic that they will triumph today with God and Nigerians by their side.
He said the reaction of Coach Siasia after the Ghanaians scored through a penalty in the semi final was to tell them that they should keep playing, knowing that the game will be tough.
“This will be the first cup Siasia is competing in for as Super Eagles coach, so we want to win it for him. The spirit in camp is high because we want to win the cup.
“We are not under any pressure to deliver the trophy for him because the main test for us was the Ghana game and we were able come out victorious. I believe we will lift the trophy today by God’s grace and the support from all Nigerians.
“When we conceded the goal through a penalty, he did not say anything to us since he had told us before the match that the game will be very tough for us as any game against the Ghanaians will be difficult considering the rivalry,” Yusuf said.
