Tinubu, ACN commended over stand on GNU

By Clifford Ndujihe

FOR refusing to be part of President Goodluck Jonathan’s proposed Government of National Unity, GNU, a group, Forum for Purposeful Governance and Democratic Ethos, FPGDE, has commended the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, and its national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

The Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, recently distanced itself from Jonathan’s unity government,  because “it stifles the opposition” saying it was contented with offering virile opposition to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Describing the ACN move as ‘progressive,” FPGDE in a statement by its National Co-ordinator, Femi Akomolede, said “for a truly balanced democracy, such as we last had between 1979 and 1983, the opposition must maintain a cohesive voice to serve as the purveyor of alternative considerations and solutions on important matters of national interest.”
