ABUJA – Governor Gabriel Suswam of Benue State said weekend he was committed to the continuation of the president of the senate, Senator David Mark, having provided exemplary leadership in the last four years.

He also said the people of  the North Central zone deserved to be rewarded for overwhelmingly voting for President Goodluck Jonathan in the presidential election.

In an interview with newsmen, Suswam equally canvassed the maintenance of the present status quo in the National Assembly as a way of balancing the country’s religious sensibility.

Similarly, Chairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Governments, Senator Sahabi Yau Alhaji, said if Senator David Mark was not retained as the president of the senate, “even the international community would not take us seriously if we begin to drop such people who have made the country proud.”
