A street sweeper with the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), Mrs. Bimbola Aduke Adesanya, has become millionaire courtesy of the on-going Airtel Feel Free Promo.

Mrs Adesanya joins 42 others who have emerged millionaires in the Airtel marketing initiative which started in February 2011.

Mrs Adesanya and seven other Airtel customers emerged winners of N1 million (One Million Naira) cash prize at a recent raffle draw conducted in Lagos by Airtel Nigeria and supervised by TCQ&A, a system audit firm.

Several other consumers won Samsung LCD Television sets as well as fully connected Blackberry Smart phones.

When officials of Airtel Nigeria contacted Mrs Adesanya on phone to break the good news to her, she was extremely excited and grateful just as she praised God for opening up an amazing opportunity to transform her life.

She also commended Airtel for conducting the exciting SMS-based offer, describing the promo as both intellectual stimulating and engaging.

“I want to commend Airtel for this opportunity. Before now, I usually doubt promos but this is, indeed, different as the company involved is respected and straightforward.

It feels great to be among the winners and l want to encourage Airtel to keep coming up with offers to excite and reward its customers,” she said.

The Airtel Feel Free Bonanza, is a two-phased SMS promotion designed to allow customers win prizes for free as well as for a premium.

Customers have the opportunity to win LCD TV for free by participating in the Feel Free category which requires participants to send SMS to the short code 333 . To stand a chance to win N1 million or Blackberry Smartphone or ringtones customers are required to participate in the 2Good category by sending the key word, 2Good to 444 for only N100.

Other winners that emerged in recent draws of the promo include Mr. Dipo Lawanson, a Lagos-based driver; Pastor Olaoluwa Arije, a clergy man resident in Lagos; Mr. Nathaniel Madukibe, an Ebonyi-based civil servant; Mr. Ikechukwu Raphael, a driver; Mr. Admin Mere, a student in Ogun State; Mrs. Bose Olugbade, a trader and Miss Esther Omowunmi James, an 18 year-old student based in Niger State.

Aside the one million naira cash prize winners, eight customers won Samsun LCD Television sets in the seventh raffle draw of the promo while another eight lucky winners won fully connected Blackberry handsets.

Winners in Airtel Bonanza are routinely presented with their winnings at a prize presentation ceremony. The prize presentations events are usually held in the Airtel office closest to the location of the winners. Airtel has offices in the different regions including North, South-South, south East and South West geopolitical zones of the country.

According to the Chief Marketing Officer of Airtel Nigeria, George Andah, the Airtel ‘Feel Free’ Promo is the first in the history of promotion in the Nigerian telecommunications industry where prizes are presented to winners of a free promo.

Andah stated that the company’s Bonanza promos are always supervised by a leading process and applications audit firms, are usually closely monitored by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC).
