One of the zonal star distributors of Forever Living Products, FLP, in Port Harcourt, and wife of Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Mrs. Mina Ikuru, has been rewarded with a Honda Pilot Jeep car by the company.
At the “Success Showcase” event in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Engr Tele Ikuru, said that as distributor of FLP, his wife, Mina, “earns more in monthly bonus than his own salary as deputy governor of Rivers State. As I speak to you, last month, she brought N1.25 million to show me as what the company paid her, which is far over my own salary. In addition to that, she told me that they are presenting a car to her today, and here I am”,
Chief Ikuru said, “In fact, a brand new Honda Pilot. I am still in amazement, that is the simple truth”.
At the event, FLP Managing Director, Nigeria/Benin Republic, Mr. Cornelius Olanrewaju Tay, said the deputy governor’s wife earned the brand new car, having qualified for the reward under the Earned Incentive programme of the company.
The event drew a large turnout of the company’s distributors from Port Harcourt, Aba, Enugu, Owerri, Lagos, Abuja, Calabar, Uyo and Yenagoa.
Tay, who with FLP Diamond Managers, John and Justina Ekperigin; Foluso and Fehintola Onagoruwa, just returned from the FLP 2011 European/World Rally in Vienna, Austria and Munich, Germany, said that Nigeria was now perceived as “the Shining Star” in FLP worldwide. We emerged No. 1 in the Eagle Manager Programme worldwide by the end of 2010. Nigeria is also well positioned in the world Top 10 FLP countries and continues to retain the No. 1 position in Africa.”
Speaking at the end of the event, Engr. Ikuru said he was amazed at the benefits that had accrued to his family as a result of his wife becoming a distributor of Forever Living Products.
“When my wife started this entire thing (FLP distributorship), initially, I didn’t know what it was all about. But the only thing I think I benefitted apparently was the fact that I used to have some pain within my heart. And then she gave me one of the supplements to take and in the last nine months, I have not had the pain again. That, to me, was one benefit I have seen in the business. In addition to that, I used to have this problem on my knee and that made me very uncomfortable, and then she gave me one of the supplements, I took it and ever since then, I have watched it disappear completely. For me those are the most important things”.
“The extra things that started coming, severally, over the months, keep me amazed even till today. First, I noticed that she first brought N15,000 to show me that this is what the company paid her as bonus. The next time, it was N85,000, the next time it was N200,000. As I speak to you, last month, she brought N1.25 million to show me as what the company paid her which is far over my own salary”.
The deputy governor said that by its antecedents, FLP had launched a strategy to reduce unemployment in Nigeria, because, “the crowd I saw today right inside that hall, were ordinary people of everyday life who had testimonies on how their economic lifelines have changed and how equipped they have suddenly become, able to cater for themselves and their families.
These are ordinary people, none of them is even a husband or wife of a councillor. Perhaps, people would say because it is deputy governor’s wife. The people I saw here today are everyday people in the ordinary course of life and I think that every person who wants to get out of poverty, this is the time to log on to FLP because I am still amazed myself that I can get a brand new car at no extra cost to us.”
