Owel-Linkso establishes new gas company

By Clara Nwachukwu

Owel-Linkso Group or “the Company” announces that it has established Izombe Gas Processing Company, IGPC, as a special purpose vehicle for the Development, processing and Utilization of Natural Gas in Nigeria.

Owel-Linkso is an entrepreneurial Group, which has championed projects and initiatives for delivering quality services and products to the Oil and Gas industry.

The company, which pioneered gas distribution in Nigeria, established Gaslink Nigeria Limited, as a special purpose vehicle in 1999, for the development and distribution of natural gas to industries in the greater Lagos area. Gaslink natural gas which is today a subsidiary of Oando, distributes gas to several industries through an 82km pipeline in Lagos.

Owel–Linkso Group obtained approval from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to progress the project in July 2010, having first initiated and signed a Heads of Agreement with Addax Petroleum Development (Nigeria) Limited, APDNL, in 2004, to develop and operate an LPG plant at Izombe. Addax is the operator of OML 124 under a production sharing contract with NNPC.

The Izombe Gas processing plant once operational will take feed gas from the Izombe flow station and other flow stations within the immediate vicinity and deliver dry gas to the Egbema NIPP.
