To ensure healthy and active lives, Nigerians have been urged to keep track of their physical condition by adopting preventive home- base care aimed at taking urgent steps to improve their own health.

Making the call weekend in Lagos at the media presentation of New Heights Pharma Limited as the authorised distributor for Omron Healthcare products in Nigeria, the Managing Director of the pharmaceutical company, Pharmacists Ogheneochuko Omaruaye, who stressed the need for people to adopt preventive care explained that helps to prevent diseases rather than curing them or treating their symptoms.

Omaruaye stated that preventive health which starts at home would not only prevent sudden deaths from cardiovascular diseases said diseases like hypertension, obesity, asthma, diabetes could be prevented and treated if nip in the bud.

He further noted that good health remains the foundation upon which people build their dreams.

“This is the mission of Omron Healthcare products. The products are designed to improve lives.”

Speaking on the appointment of the New heights Pharma as distributor of Omron Products, further, he said the company has designed products as people’s lifestyles changes.

To this end, he said they have developed new products and services aimed at the prevention and management of lifestyle-related diseases, including a variety monitoring devices that are as accurate as those used by medical professionals and which can be used by anyone easily and comfortably in the privacy of their own home.

While presenting the products, he announced that the company would be conducting training for Nigerian pharmacists nationwide on the use of the products to ensure they are used as recommended.

He disclosed that already, the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN), has directed its members to stock only genuine Omron products from New Heights and to be weary of substandard Omron products in the market.

Speaking, the Marketing Manager, Mr. Yakubu Obaro Abdulmaleek explained that the Omron products have been clinically validated and could actually improve life through home-based self checks and self controls.

“For instance, instead of the recommended 10,000 steps a day, Omron Nebulizer could actually help an individual achieve that.”

The Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Chukwuemeka Obi who disclosed that prices of the various products are affordable noted that individual lives are valueless stating that it is better to invest in things that can impact on lives positively. Obi listed some of the products to include; thermometers, pedometers and nebulizers adding that they popularity of the products have made OMRON a globally recognised healthcare brand.
