Victor Ehikhamenor, a multi-talented visual artist, photographer, poet and writer will from April 29, 2011, mount a solo exhibition at the Yaba based CCA art gallery. The exhibition ENTRANCES AND EXITS: A QUEST FOR MEMORY will focus on the significance of DOORS in our lives as points of departure as well as points of arrival and moments of transition from one epoch to another.
From antiquity to contemporaneity, man has always been intrigued by the idea of this open space that yields to possibilities while also signifying in many ways the end of possibilities.
Victor Ehikhamenor confronts this ambiguous concept in his new series of paintings which attempt, in varying degrees and styles with echoes of both the old and the new to interrogate afresh the idea of what the door means to man.
Victor Ehikhamenor who currently works as Creative Director at NEXT newspapers, holds a BA degree in English and Literary Studies from the Bendel State University, Ekpoma (now Ambrose Alli University) as well as an MS in Technology Management and MFA in Creative Writing from University of Maryland, College Park in the USA.
The exhibition will run from April 29, 2011 to May 26th, 2011.
