WHO among the leading presidential candidates will get the nod of Labour Party supporters in Ondo State in next tomorrow’s polls is not yet decided.

The state governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko is yet to make a categorical statement on the stand of his party as regards who to vote because the party is not fielding any Presidential candidate for the polls.

Dependable sources said that the governor after the overwhelming victory in the National Assembly election last weekend has become a beautiful bride of sorts and he is being wooed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.

Pressures are said to be mounting on the governor to declare his support for either Malam Nuhu Ribadu of ACN or President Goodluck Jonathan of PDP ahead of the election following the abysmal performance of the PDP in Ondo at the last elections.

Sources said Mimiko might advise Labour Party faithful to vote according to their conscience in the presidential polls.

The party hierarchy was finding difficult to taken a stand because they fear that it might be counter productive if they advised LP supporters to vote for PDP or ACN Presidential candidates now because governorship House of Assembly elections are yet to be decided and the voters may vote for the PDP or ACN not knowing the difference.

Chairman of the LP in the state, Dr Olaiya Oni recently said the national headquarters of the party had not decided who to vote for in the Presidential election.

However, the Defence Minister, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, has been mobilising aggressively for the President to coast home with majority votes in the state.

He has held series of meeting with leaders of the party and stakeholders in the state on the need to vote Jonathan as President on Saturday.

But the support of Mimiko and LP supporters is highly needed to make Jonathan win the majority votes in the state.

The ACN in the state is also not resting. It has recruited 5000 canvassers to reach 50,000 houses within the next three days in a bid to win the Presidential election in the state for Ribadu.

Coordinator of Ribadu Campaign Organization in the state, Mr Bola Ilori said the canvassers would move from one house to the other to campaign for the ACN presidential candidate.

In like manner, Coordinator of the Goodluck Jonathan in the state, Hon Taofiq Abdusalam assured that the President would win convincingly in the state on Saturday.

Abdusalam said that the party was perfecting plans to ensure that majority of the votes from the state went to President Jonathan.
