Omo-Agege alleges intimidation of Orogun voters

By Kenneth Ehigator
Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, governorship candidate in Delta State, Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege, has warned against the use of the military in Saturday’s presidential election in the state and subsequent elections.

Omo-Agege had condemned the alleged use of armed military men to chase away voters, who were not Peoples Democratic Party, PDP members, alleged snatching of ballot boxes and disallowing voters from voting for candidates of their choice during the recently held National Assembly elections, thus leading to its disruption in Orogun, his (Omo-Agege) home town.

Condemning the failure of Orogun natives to exercise their civic right at the National Assembly elections, he said that voting did not take place in Orogun wards due to the alleged shooting of some unarmed youths on their way to the voting centres because they were not PDP-card caring members.

Omo-Agege alleged the youths were shot at by a section of the military tagged Anti-Kidnap Terrorists Squad, AKS

He wondered why the military would be used for selfish political aims during democratic elections. He warned that he will not fold his hands and watch the poor electorate treated like slaves and shot to death when they are unarmed.
