Time for credible leadership here – Ribadu

A huge crowd of party supporters at the Kaduna Township stadium yesterday, welcomed Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu _ former Governor of Lagos state, also leader of the ACN – Gov. Rauf Aregbesola, Governor of Oshun State, the National Chairman of ACN, Chief Bisis Akande and other chieftains of the party and aspirants.

Ribadu told his supporters that the April polls would offer the electorate an opportunity of electing credible leaders.
“My experience in Kaduna today shows that God has answered our prayers; God has brought about change; God has brought ease to our land; God has agreed that they time for truth has arrived”, he said.

“Time for credible leadership and Justice has come; time has come for leaders to work for the masses”, he said.
“We have come here to fulfil our promise that, when you elect us, we will work for your good and for the good of the country.

We would work as men who fear God. We shall work for the masses of Nigeria and change the ugly leadership that we have today. The days when any leader thinks he can do what he wants is over.

Meanwhile, Mallam Ribadu claimed that he rejected $15 million bribe offered him by former Governor of Delta state, Mr. James Ibori.

Speaking at an interactive session with Kaduna youth, he said said he did not take the money because he wanted to use the money as prove of Ibori’s criminality and prosecute him.

He said: “When James Ibori wanted to give me $15m cash” I called my directors and other senior officers of the EFCC to witness what was happening”.

“I was not going to take the bribe, but I wanted to have credible witnesses to bear me witness”.
“I wanted them to see so that they could testify when I prosecute him”.
