Maiduguri-Gov. Ali Modu Sheriff of Borno has assured NYSC members posted to the state of adequate security and protection throughout their stay.
Sheriff gave the assurance, Thursday, in Maiduguri at the swearing-in ceremony of the 1,100 Batch “A” NYSC members.
He said “I am sure some of you are in Borno for the first time and you might have heard about the security challenges in the state.
“I want to assure you that government has brought the security threat under control. Residents of Borno are now going about their activities without any fear of molestation.
“Do not be afraid of any threat as your lives and property will be secure throughout your stay in the state.
“If you notice any problem, ensure that you do not take the law into your hands but report promptly to the appropriate authorities.”
He said the state government would continue to appreciate the enormous contributions of the NYSC to the development of the state.
