Ondo: Political violence leaves 4 injured, 7 cars damaged


AKURE – ANOTHER orgy of violence occured in Ile-Oluji town, Ondo State weekend leaving at least four persons critically injured and seven vehicles damaged.

The State Police Command in a swift reaction said that it had declared one Wale Adeoba, younger brother to the Labour Party, LP, House of Representatives’ candidate wanted and nine others already arrested will be taken to court today.

The campaign rally organised by the PDP candidate for the House of Reps in Ile Olujio/Okeigbo, Dr Oluseun Fasawe was reportedly attacked by the supporters of the LP.

One of those injured has been refereed to the Obafemi Awolowo Teaching Hospital, Ile Ife, Osun State following the deep injury he sustained on his head.

Investigation revealed that the victim simply called Tunde was hit on the head with an iron rod which made him unconscious and had to be referred to the teaching hospital for proper medical care.

But the State Chairman of the LP, Dr. Olaiya Oni, has dissociated the party from he violence, saying that it has embarked on an issue-based campaign at all times since it has so much to showcase in its two years in office.
