Olugbo raises alarm over invasion by unknown thugs


AKURE-THE Olugbo of Ugbo kingdom in Ondo State, Oba Obateru Akinruntan weekend raised alarm that some thugs have destroyed his newly renovated property at Ugbonla and carted away valuable items worth about N20 millions.

Speaking with newsmen his Personal Assistance, Mr. Jide Lala, a lawyer said “since the police and military authorities were yet to make their findings known, members of the public should not conclude that no arms were found in the town during the last raid.

Lala pointed out that” information available to the Olugbo-in-Council showed that nobody was injured by either the soldiers or the policemen that carried out the raid and that none of the residents was hospitalized as a result of the operation.

He maintained that the various types of ammunitions employed by the people, who destroyed the Olugbo’s property in 2008, were still in their possession in their various homes.

“When they struck in 2008 they bombarded the Olugbo’s residence with various types of ammunitions. In the process, they destroyed five exotic, state-of-the –arts cars worth hundred of millions of naira and vandalized the entire building.
