Obi’s aide wants Ezenwenyi probed over electoral materials’ possession

By Vincent Ujumadu

AWKA -THE Senior Special Assistant to Governor Peter Obi on Media and Publicity, Mr. Valentine Obienyem, has urged the police to thoroughly investigate an aide to Dr. Chris Ngige, Mr. Kingsley Ezenwenyi, who was caught with sensitive electoral materials in Awka.

In a statement in Awka, Obienyem said such a sensitive matter should not be swept under the carpet, especially at this time when all attention was focussed on Nigeria’s general elections.

The statement read: “The attention of  Anambra State government was brought to a news publication credited to the senior aide to Dr. Chris Ngige, Mr. Kingsley Ezenwenyi, who was arrested by Anambra State Police Command in his Finotel Hotel room, Awka, for possession of materials that Independent National Electoral Commission confirmed as sensitive materials meant for the forth coming elections. The commission said that any person in possession of such materials had the capacity to write and announce his own result.
