IN line with moves to provide alternatives towards tackling problems associated with poor nutrition and its consequences in Nigerian children, Justy Confectionary Foods Ltd, has produced unique products in the form of bread, cookies and Biniza multivitamins cereals. They are fortified with high protein, fibre and 35 vitamins and minerals.
The products, endorsed by the Medical Women’s Association of Nigerian (MWAN), are outcome of a six-year researchand contain the recommended dietary allowances per day as food supplements and nutritional back up for patients.
Chief Executive of the company, Mr George Eke, said the products which include the famous Justy Green Bread, contain anti-oxidants that eliminate disease-causing free radicals.
Eke opined that the research was conducted with some of the best technology in the world. He said a serving of each product can sustain an individual for 12 hours with the recommended dietary allowances.
“Some of the vitamins and minerals are high level antioxidants and are effective in the prevention of various cancers, cardiac heart diseases, hypertension, bad cholesterol, diabetes, infertility, anaemia and extreme cases of malnutrition amongst others.
Adopted and promoted by the Federal government, Justy Green Products are expected to become the solution to a lot of health and malnutrition problems.
Eke said the organisation is planning a nationwide campaign on malnutrition and diabetes which is assuming epidemic status in the country. “If Federal government supports an intensive nationwide campaign on Justy Green Project for two years, as is done for iodised salt, Vitamin A and HIV&AIDS, an amazing result will be achieved on the overall national health.”
