IBADAN – FORMER Governor Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo State has said he would work hand-in-hand with the Osun State Government to bring an end to the ownership crisis rocking the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology. This came as he promised to provide 50,000 jobs for thousands of youths roaming the streets in the state. He said this through the Director General of his campaign, Mr. Adeolu Adeleke yesterday.
Ladoja explained that it was worrisome to see how the once-enviable institution had degenerated so fast under the PDP ruling government led by Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala.
The ownership crisis has been a recurring issue between Akala and the former Osun State Government. It was so serious that the National Universities Commission waded into it to no avail. And since then, it has become a subject of litigation.
Ladoja condemned the statement credited to Governor Akala that Oyo State had finally won the ownership right of the institution, adding that it was unwise for the governor to make such comments on an issue that was yet to be resolved.
