Warri Wolves striker Ekigho Ehiosun says his dream is to be like Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, who recently retired from football.
Disclosing this to inside out Premier League , Ehiosun, the leading scorer in the Nigeria Premier League (NPL), said Ronldo is one player that has inspired him in the game of football following his exploits in the game and he would like to be revered like that some day.
“Jesus Christ, has always been my role model. But in the game of football, my role model from the onset as a player has been Ronaldo. The reason is that he had what it takes as a player, even when he was close to his retirement he was still doing well. It shows how brilliant he is. He had outstanding records in terms of dribbling, speed and goals. He has been a source of inspiration to me.
During his active days he reigned like a king in football and I always watched him whenever he played . I want to be like him, even more than him some day, that has been my prayer.
On plying his trade abroad, Ehiosun said it has been his target, especially playing in one of the clubs in Europe.
“I dream of playing overseas, preferably in Europe and hope I could start my pro career in any of the Scandinavian countries before launching out to a bigger league,” he sid.
On his experience as a Warri Wolves player, he said: “Actually I was born and brought up in Warri, so playing in Warri Wolves has really been a wonderful experience, especially with the rich pool of talented players we have. It is indeed wonderful playing in such a club,” he concluded.
