OSOGBO – Osun State Governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, has assured the people of the state that the moribund rail line system would soon be made active for massive movement of goods particularly agricultural produce between Osun and Lagos states.
He disclosed this while discussing with the management of the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture, IITA, led by its Director-General, Dr Peter Hartmann in Ibadan, Oyo State weekend.
The governor disclosed that “his vision is to turn the state into business hub of the western region and as such an economic means of transporting goods and people is essential.”
He added that arrangements were in top gear with the management of the Nigeria Railway Corporations, NRC, to facilitate release of about 34 coaches for the commencement of rail transport in the state.
