ABEOKUTA -VICE-Presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, CPC, Pastor Tunde Bakare yesterday said the April elections would not just be between the CPC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but also between honest and dishonest men.
Bakare spoke in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital just as his Presidential candidate Major General Muhammed Buhari said his government would ensure that all levels leaders in the country would be made accountable for deeds while in office.
Speaking during a courtesy call on the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo , in his palace, Pastor Bakare said “the 2011 polls will not be just between CPC and PDP but between honest men and dishonest men. It will be between experienced people and those who are just lucky; between incorruptible and corruptible; it is between promise keepers and promise breakers. By the Grace of God and support of Kabiyesi and the people we will conquer and rebuild Nigeria.”
On his part, Gen. Buhari listed some of the nation’s companies and parastatals that were no more in existence, insisting that those who ran them aground would be made to account for their stewardship
He said: “CPC government is determined to make every leadership accountable. We will not spare any effort to make the leadership accountable.”
In his response, Oba Gbadebo said Buhari was his last boss in the army and that he was the Head of State that never promoted himself while in office which he said was an indication that he was not pushing a personal agenda.
