Oba Sijuwade who was accompanied on the tour which took him to Ife South Local Government Area by traditional rulers, chiefs and community leaders in Ife land, charged the people to avail themselves of the extention of the registration excercise to register.

“It is our responsibility to ensure that every citizen in our area carries out his or her civic duty to participate in the voter’s registration.”
The monarch told the people that if they were not registered, it would not be possible for them to exercise their franchise when it was time to vote during the general elections.
He expressed satisfaction on the conduct of the exercise in the areas visited, saying that, “everything is going on well”.
The Ooni said that “since the purpose of my going round to monitor the registration was to encourage our people, I believe that those of them who are yet to register would do so before the end of the exercise”
