Police Golfer Get Accolades in Lagos

Members of Ikeja Golf Club in Lagos last weekend hosted an eighteen holes kitty to honour, Chris Ola, a fellow golfer who was recently promoted by the force as Assistant Inspector General of Police on Friday, December 3rd, 2010.

Eighty one players competed in the one day hostility  that has been described as the captain of the Club, WA Ibraheem as the clubs own way of showing how proud it was to be associated to such an honourable citizen.

“I believe that the task of nation building is such a challenging one that we as a sporting club must in our own way cheer anyone that has shown patriotic service and has been a role model in his files like (Chris) Ola has shown, so it behooves on us to tell we are proud of
him and a lot of us are looking up to him too” he said.

Ibraheem said the event apart from being a social gathering also has in part a function to bring him to accountability especially in our environment when genuine leadership can be very lonely.

At the event proper General Chioba playing off handicap ten carded a 68nett score to emerge the overall winner of the event gaining one stroke advantage over Biyi Fetuga and Gbenga Ayodele.
